During the flange making procedure each workpiece (17) is received by the matrix of a lower tool (4) shaped with the flange contour and advanced axially against the rotary rolling head (19) of an upper tool (2). The flange is then finished by cold rolling between the upper and lower tools, filling the whole cavity of the flange matrix, while being sprayed with a cooling and/or lubricating fluid.
