PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain image signals different by pixel densities, without subjecting to pixel density conversion of image processing in a radiograph reader which reads radiographs stored in a stimulable phosphor sheet or the like by line sensors, where many photoelectric transducers are arranged linearly. SOLUTION: A line sensor 20 has arrays 20a and 20b where many photoelectric transducers are arranged in the Y direction, and the output signal of pixel density, corresponding to the width in the X direction of photoelectric converters, is outputted from the array 20a, and an output signal obtained by adding and averaging pixel signals of two adjacent photoelectric converters is outputted from the array 20b by an average output means 22, and thus output signals different by pixel densities are obtained from arrays 20a and 20b.
