PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a restarting method of a system BIOS invalidated by wrong microcode input resulting from accidental miscode or malice. SOLUTION: When the system BIOS is stopped by the wrong microcode input resulting from accidental miscode or malice, a keyboard BIOS is used. When the CPU of a computer is crushed during update of the microcode, the system notifies of an error (sets a flag), and restarts the computer. The restarted system does not execute microcode update but executes ordinary BIOS start, to thereby avoid the crush problem. The user can repair the error of the BIOS only by acquiring an accurate microcode from a CPU retail trader.
