PURPOSE: A mobile terminal capable of a silent response and a method thereof are provided to previously record the voice data of simple response contents in a mobile terminal and to output relevant voice data in telephone conversation so that a user can make a response voicelessly. CONSTITUTION: An RF(Radio Frequency) circuit part(11) converts an RF signal, received from the other side, into a baseband signal. The converted baseband signal is split into an audio signal and a data signal. The audio signal and the data signal are sent respectively to an audio processing part(13) and a control part(10). The audio processing part(13) transfers the audio signal to a handset(14) through voice regeneration so that the receiver can hear it in voice. The control part(10) stores the data signal in a memory(17) or displays it through a display part(15) so that the user can visually see it. The memory(17) stores the response contents of positive answers and negative answers to be used in a silent response mode.
