PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital recording/reproducing device by which special reproduction functions are realized in accordance with respective operations such as pausing, fast-forwarding and rewinding when stream data is reproduced from a random access possible medium. SOLUTION: A control system 10 realizes the reproduction functions by reproducing and processing stream data read from the medium 13 through the use of a decoder. The system 10 moves a reading start pointer to the leading part of a data block which constitutes a data format in the case of a special reproduction action corresponding to the respective operations such as pausing, fast-forwarding and rewinding and sets it as the restart position of the reproduction action.
