Vibrations are set up in the melted toner image. The vibrations are produced without mechanical contact with the melted toner image and/or the substrate (paper or card). An ultrasound device may be used to apply ultrasonic waves to the melted toner. An Independent claim is included for a digital printer or copier, including a vibration device for generating vibrations in the melted toner.
