The switch blade (5) for rail track direction change points, particularly for an urban tramway, has an upper section (1) with the blade bed (4) of a high tensile quality steel with a hardness of up to 1400 N/mm<2>. The lower section (2) is of construction steel quality. The upper and lower parts are bonded together by screw bolts, welding, locking pins, and the like. Their butting edges can be cut (6) into a V-shape to take the weld throat (3).
