PURPOSE: A processing method of a side member for a vehicle is provided to prevent bending or torsion moment, and to improve rigidity against impact or vibration during traveling by closing four sides of the side member. CONSTITUTION: Round base metal(100) is pressed with a first die(200), and formed into the elliptical material. The round base metal is formed of a hollow pipe, and the first die is divided into upper and lower dies(210,220). A semi-elliptical forming space part(230) is formed in the upper and lower dies. The round base metal is put on the lower die, and processed with moving down the upper die. The elliptical base metal is put in a second die(300) including a rectangular forming space part(330), and the rectangular section is formed with an upper die(310). Rigidity is improved against impact, vibration or torsion moment with closing four sides of the frame.
