RUBBER COMPOSITION MADE WITH DIENE ELASTOMER AND A REINFORCING SILICON CARBIDE

A rubber composition that can be used for the manufacture of tyres, made with at least one diene elastomer, an inorganic reinforcing filler, a coupling agent that links the inorganic filler and the elastomer, characterised by the fact that said inorganic filler comprises a silicon carbide with the following characteristics: - a) a specific surface area BET of between 20 and 200 m<2>/g; b) an average particle size (mass) dw of between 10 and 350 nm. Such a rubber composition is used for the manufacture of rubber articles, particularly tyres and semi-finished rubber products intended for said tyres, specifically tyre treads.
