The machine column (1), of cast iron or a plastics with fiber reinforcement for a high precision micro milling and drilling machine, has a vertical section (5) strengthened by cast polymer concrete. The lower horizontal section (2) is partially stiffened by cast polymer concrete, up to the line (11) of locking points for the worktable guides. The upper horizontal section (6) of the column is free of polymer concrete.
