THIN FILM TRANSISTOR-LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A thin film transistor-liquid crystal display is provided to improve gate signal delay while maintaining a uniform storage capacitance. CONSTITUTION: A TFT-LCD includes a transparent insulating substrate, a plurality of gate signal lines(11) arranged on the substrate in one direction to divide a unit pixel region into two regions, and a plurality of data signal lines(13) intersecting the gate signal lines to define unit pixel regions. The TFT-LCD further includes a thin film transistor(19) formed at each of the intersections of the gate signal lines and the data signal lines, and a pixel electrode(15) formed at each unit pixel region. The pixel electrode has the first and second sub pixel electrodes(15a,15b) respectively placed at the divided unit pixel regions and the third sub pixel electrode(15c) superposed on a corresponding gate signal line.
