PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly calculate an average respiratory tract internal pressure at a lower frequency. SOLUTION: This high frequency respirator is equipped with an inhaling air introducing section 62 for feeding an inhaling air, a patient side path 60 which guides the inhaling air to a patient, a vibrating air pressure applying section 50 which applies a vibrating air pressure to the inhaling air, and a discharging path 604 for an exhaling air. The high frequency respirator is also equipped with an internal pressure regulating section 607 which regulates the average respiratory tract internal pressure, a pressure sensor 93 for detecting the inhaling air pressure, and a controller 40. In this case, the controller performs a motion control of the internal pressure regulating section 607 based on an output of the pressure sensor 93. Also, the controller 40 is equipped with a sampling section 80, a memory, an operation section 83, and a renewing section 82. In this case, the sampling section 80 extracts detected pressures in order from the outputs of the pressure sensor 93. The memory stores extracted-detected pressures P(1), P(2) and P(3). The operation section 83 calculates the average respiratory tract internal pressure Ph in response to the changing patterns of P(1), P(2) and P(3). The renewing section 82 writes the calculated average respiratory tract internal pressure Ph as P(3) in the memory 81.
