PURPOSE: A character input keypad unit of a communication terminal is provided to easily execute character inputting according to an order of Hangul consonant and vowel conceptually recognized by communication terminal users and maximize a user's convenience in using a communication terminal by forming 16 keypad button matrix arranged in order of the Hangul consonant and vowel. CONSTITUTION: 16 buttons(2A-2P) are formed on a keypad frame(1) with a 4x4 matrix form, and identification symbols(3) in a number or a character form are printed on the surface of the buttons(2A-2P). The identification symbol(3) formed on the 16 buttons(2A-2P) of 4x4 matrix is spelled in order of Hangul consonant and vowel. Accordingly, when a user desires to send a character message through his/her communication terminal, he/she can link various characters formed in order of Hangul consonant and vowel on the buttons of the keypad frame(1) to complete one letter to transmit it.
