PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit the retracting operation of a piston-piston rod assembly to a fully retracted position according to the length dimension of a piston rod even if the piston rod is short and a cylinder is long. SOLUTION: A stopper block 25 allowed to abut on the piston rod 16 is installed in the axial intermediate position of an outer tube 1 and an inner tube 7 at the fully retracted position of the piston-piston rod assembly 9. Accordingly, even when the length dimensions of the outer tube 1 and the inner tube 7 are set larger than the length dimensions according to the length dimension of the piston rod 16, when the piston-piston rod assembly 9 is retracted largely, the piston rod 16 is allowed to abut on a stopper block 25 at the fully retracted position suitable for the length dimension of the piston rod 16 irrespective of the length dimensions of the outer tube 1 and the inner tube 7 to limit the retracting operation at this position.
