PURPOSE: A damper clutch controlling method for an automatic transmission is provided to control the operation of a damper clutch in case of power-off under downtown driving conditions in which a throttle valve opening degree is seriously changed, thereby improving the fuel ratio. CONSTITUTION: A damper clutch controlling method for an automatic transmission includes the steps of determining whether a power off running condition is satisfied(S105), determining a damper clutch operation condition(S110), carrying out the damper clutch operation duty control after blocking off the fuel supply according to the damper clutch operation condition(S115-S140), and determining a damper clutch operation releasing condition.
