PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening-closing body operation device capable of restraining the breakage and service life curtailment of a mechanism element for operating the opening-closing body at a low cost. SOLUTION: A control device 22 connects an electromagnetic clutch with transmission force smaller than transmission force capable of moving a slide door in starting the operation of the slide door (S1). The control device carries out a process for confirming whether or not there is a sliding phenomenon exceeding a predetermined scale between a rotor on the side of an electric motor of the clutch and a rotor on the door side by means of a slide detection means (S3). The control device slightly increases the transmission force of the clutch in a condition that the sliding phenomenon exceeding the predetermined scale (S4), and stops the slight increase of the transmission force of the clutch when the sliding phenomenon exceeding the predetermined scale becomes incapable of being detected by the slide detection means. Thereby, the magnitude of the transmission force can be set to the minimum value required for operating the door.
