PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism of opening package paper of rolled sheet capable of smoothly cutting and opening package paper without damaging the rolled sheet which can be realized simply at a low cost. SOLUTION: By providing the mechanism with a guide rail 1 horizontally provided along the roll axis of the rolled sheet R, a knife supporting unit 2 for moving the guide rail 1, an opening knife unit 3 for cutting and opening the package paper P closely covered over the rolled sheet R, a shaft supporting means 4 for rotating a knife tip part 3a of the opening knife unit 3 relative to the knife supporting unit 2, and an opening resistance adjusting means 5 for energizing the knife tip part 3a of the opening knife unit 3 in the direction that it is separated from the rolled sheet R, the package paper P can be smoothly cut and opened without damaging the rolled sheet R.
