PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the evaluation of residual stress accompanying heating lines. SOLUTION: First, a tentative heating plan is drawn up in which a heating line layout, heating conditions and heating sequence are determined (step 1). Then, the heating lines are classified into a preceding group and a succeeding group, with the order of the heating lines appearing of which heating sections overlap with those of other heating lines as the border (step 2). A simulation is performed as to the deformation of a metal plate heated by the preceding group of the heating lines (step 3). The Young's modulus of the FEM element at a position where the succeeding group of the heating lines passes is lowered (step 4). A simulation is performed as to the deformation of the metal plate heated by the succeeding group of the heating lines (step 5). The shape of the metal plate thus obtained is compared with the intended curved face shape (step 6). If the differenceΔW between both shapes is great, the intended intrinsic strain is corrected on the basis of the distribution (step 7). The above steps are repeated, and the tentative heating plan when the differenceΔW is minimized is adopted as the practical heating plan. At step 4 the Young's modulus is lowered, and the residual stress accompanying the preceding group of the heating lines is indicated as the deformation of the metal plate.
