The lock has a latch bolt (12) and locking pawl (14) and motor-driven follower cam (26). The follower cam moves relative to the circumferential axis (30) between an inner radial position where it is outside the engagement area of the pawl and stop (48), and an outer radial position where it is in the engagement area of the pawl and stop. At least a fixed guide slide can be provided on which the cam slides radially outwards against a tensioning spring (28) when the drive is switched on. The cam is mounted on a follower lever (24).
