MEMORY DEVICE OF DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER LINE EXTERNAL MODEM AND MANAGING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A memory device of a digital subscriber line external modem and its managing method are provided to reduce a production cost and smoothly perform a maintenance of an xDSL external modem by storing a program resided in an external modem in a user device and storing only the minimum program required for driving a CPU in a programmable memory of a memory unit of the xDSL external modem to thereby automatically download the resident program from the user device and drive the xDSL external modem. CONSTITUTION: A programmable memory(133) stores the minimum software and system information required for booting of xDSL external modem(100) and stores information required for automatic downloading. A RAM(132) loads a program(S/W) for operation of the xDSL external modem(100) when the automatic downloading program of the programmable memory(133) is driven by a CPU.
