PURPOSE:To suppress the discontinuity of reproduced contents, overrun of a pickup arm and the jumping over of a stylus to the utmost, by dropping the stylus on a recording disc under the status that the relative positions between the stylus and pickup arm are corrected. CONSTITUTION:When the stylus 6 is put on a video disc 10, a switching circuit 21 makes a kick off device indepdendent of an arm servo device from the viewpoint of a circuit to prevent both devices from interruption. When the stylus is separated from the video disc 10 by a pose mode or quick traverse reproducing mode, an output signal from a filter circuit 12, i.e. a differential signal indicating the difference of relative positions between the position xs of the stylus 6 and the position xa of the pickup arm 8, is applied to a kick means driving circuit 4 by the switching circuit 21, so that a stylus kick means moves the stylus 6 until said difference signal is reduced to zero. Consequently, the relative positions between the stylus 6 and pickup arm 8 are set up to the regular status. |
