PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency piezoelectric resonator where a high-order mode is suppressed and a capacity ratio is improved. SOLUTION: In the high frequency piezoelectric resonator, a pair of electrodes are formed on a piezoelectric substrate where a concave defect is formed. The ratio of the size of the electrode with respect to the size of a vibration part formed in the concave defect is set to be not less than 0.7 and the standardizing vibration displacement of the high-order mode is set to be not less than 0.2 at the end part of the vibration part.
