<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling an airbag is provided to protect safely a passenger by considering body states of the passenger and expanding selectively the airbag installed at the vehicle depending to the body states. CONSTITUTION: A height measuring sensor(2) is installed at a loop panel(1) of a vehicle, a pressure sensor(4) is installed at the back of a driver's seat or the seat next to the driver, and a hydraulic weight sensor(6) is installed at a seat portion(5). The hydraulic weight sensor(6) is composed of the first hydraulic weight sensor(7) and the second hydraulic weight sensor(8) and installed at a front and back sides of the seat portion respectively. A differential pressure sensor(10) is connected at the hydraulic weight sensor. The differential pressure sensor(10), the height measuring sensor(2), and the pressure sensor(4) are connected electrically at a controller.</p> |
