Dental tool comprises a rotating shaft (1) and a working region (2) with several marking regions (3) arranged around the periphery. Preferred Features: The marking regions are point-like, square or linear and are arranged on a circle which is concentric to the axle of the shaft. The marking regions are produced using a laser. The tool is covered with a hard layer which is less than 1 mu m thick.
