PURPOSE: A method for detecting the configuration accordance of a BLIA(Basic rate Line Interface board Assembly) in an ATM exchange is provided to recognize the configuration of a BLIA, added through an operator's command, and to transmits and receive data normally. CONSTITUTION: If an operator inserts a BLIA into a desired position(S31), an SCHF(System Configuration Handling Function) adds the configuration(S32). Then the SCHF transmits the configuration added information of the BLIA to an IMTF(Interface Module status management and Test Function)(S34). Afterwards, as IPC transmission and reception are executed between the IMTF and the BLIA(S35), it is confirmed whether the added BLIA is operated normally(S36). In case that an IPC is received from the BLIA, the IMTF reports that an associated resource is in a normal state(S38). Then the IMTF confirms the software configuration information and hardware configuration information of the added BLIA whether they are in accord(S39). If the software configuration information and hardware configuration information of the added BLIA are matched each other, the IMTF manages the state of the resource normally(S41).
