PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of a copper plate magnetic shield for a high voltage generating transformer. SOLUTION: In the switching power supply circuit comprising a complex resonance converter circuit, converter operation is synchronized with a horizontal synchronizing signal being used in a cathode ray tube display in order to prevent generation of a power supply beat through interference of leakage flux of a high voltage generating transformer and the synchronizing signals. Consequently, the transformer does not require any member for shielding the leakage flux and power conversion efficiency is enhanced by coupling the primary winding and the secondary winding of the high voltage generating transformer HVT loosely thereby suppressing the ringing component.
