PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication equipment for allowing a user to execute an operation to transfer image information and control information from a handy scanner to a facsimile main body by the handy scanner, and then to know by the handy scanner that the transmission is completed without requesting the information of the transmission completion from the handy scan ner. SOLUTION: In this image communication equipment, a handy scanner for reading image information is constituted so as to be separable from the facsimile main body of the image communication equipment, and the image information read by the handy scanner is transferred to the facsimile main body so as to be processed. In the facsimile body, after the transmission by a facsimile communicating means is ended, the information of the transmission completion is transferred to the handy scanner, and in the handy scanner, the information of the transmission completion received from the facsimile main body is displayed at a display means installed in the handy scanner.
