PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system for performing an image development processing in a faster host device or a printing device and to improve printing efficiency. SOLUTION: The host device 1 converts printing data into an intermediate code corresponding to the printing device 9 and transmits the converted intermediate code to the printing device 9. The printing state of the printing device 9 is acquired. When printing is not finished, the intermediate code is converted into image code data and converted image code data is transmitted to the printing device 9. The printing device 9 analyzes the received intermediate code and performs printing. When the conversion of image code data is terminated, the host device 1 stops the conversion of image code data. When image code data is transmitted from the host device 1, the printing device 9 stops the image development processing and preserves image code data in a data preserving part 14 so as to print data.
