摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling nozzle gap of an air knife and a method for controlling the same are provided to constantly maintain a plating thickness by controlling the nozzle gap of the air knife along a curved shape of the strip in the air knife controlling a plating thickness of molten zinc adhered onto a strip. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for controlling nozzle gap of an air knife(10) comprising a pair of nozzle lips(16) installed with being directed to a proceeding strip and controlling an amount of a molten plating member adhered onto the strip by ejecting gas through the pair of the nozzle lips(16), the apparatus comprises a plurality of connection members(22,24,26,28,30) installed at the nozzle lips(16) along a length of the nozzle lips(16); driving parts which are installed at each of the connection members(22,24,26,28,30) to generate force vertically moving the connection members(22,24,26,28,30); and a control part controlling a gap between the two nozzle lips(16) by calculating the driving parts to be driven among the driving parts connected to each of the connection members(22,24,26,28,30) and driving amounts, wherein the apparatus controls the amount of the plating member adhered onto the strip by controlling a gap between the two nozzle lips(16) along a shape of the proceeding strip, thereby controlling an amount of gas ejected onto the strip.
