PROCESS FOR PREPARING DIHYDROCARBOSTYRYL DERIVATIVE

PURPOSE: A process for preparing dihydrocarbostyryl derivative is provided, thereby easily preparing the dihydrocarbostyryl derivative which is an intermediate in producing Cilostazol useful as a thrombosis treating agent with decreasing production of by-products. CONSTITUTION: The process for preparing dihydrocarbostyryl derivative comprises reacting 3-chloropropion anilide represented by formula(2) in a solvent such as phosphate and phosphorous pentoxide in the presence of Lewis acid as a catalyst to produce dihydrocarbostyryl represented by formula(1), wherein R is hydrogen or C1-C3 lower alkyl; the mole ratio of the phosphate to 3-chloropropion anilide of formula 2 is 2:1 to 10:1, preferably 5:1 to 8:1; the mole ratio of the phosphorous pentoxide to 3-chloropropion anilide of formula(2) is 2:1 to 5:1; and the Lewis acid is a halogen compound of zinc, iron or antimony.
