摘要 1. A method for separating acid and sugars obtained from liquids resulting from the acid hydrolysis of a material containing at least one of cellulose and hemicellulose, comprising adding the liquids to a separation unit comprising a bed of anionic exchange or exclusion chromatographic material whereby the acid is adsorbed onto the chromatographic material, thereby producing a series of first fractions comprising sugar solutions and a later series of fractions comprising acid solutions. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said sugar solutions are contaminated by acid and heavy metals. 3. The method of claim 2, wherein further comprising removing the residual acid and heavy metals from the combined sugar solution by treatment with lime, thereby neutralizing the acid and precipitating the heavy metals to give gypsum containing the heavy metals. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein combining the sugar solutions prior to removing the residual acid and heavy metals. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein said acid is sulfuric acid. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein said chromatographic material is an ion-exclusion resin. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein said at least one of cellulosic and hemicellulosic materials are derived from MSW. 8. The method of claim 1, , wherein said at least one of cellulosic and hemicellulosic materials are derived from sewage sludge or septage or waste water sludges or commercial waste streams. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein prior to adding the liquids to a separation unit, the liquids, obtained from the acid hydrolysis are diluted with water and heated for a time sufficient to hydrolyze substantially the at least one of cellulose and hemicellulose. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the sugar solutions obtained from the separation unit are combined and recycled to the separation unit. 11. The method of claim 9, wherein the water is waste water or sewage containing organic nitrogen. 12. The method of claim 10, wherein the sugar containing solution after treatment with lime is concentrated to about 12-22% sugar. 13. The method of claim 1, wherein combining and concentrating the fractions comprising acid and recycling in the separation unit at least once. 14. The method of claim 1, wherein the liquids comprising acid and sugars are separated by a continuous ion exchange or exclusion chromatography using a simulated moving bed apparatus containing an anionic exchange or exclusion chromatographic material. 15. The method of claim 12, wherein further comprising fermenting with yeast the obtained solution to give a beer, optionally removing the yeast from the obtained beer and distilling the ethanol from the beer.
