PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a well-balanced hydrogel excellent in gel strength, syneresis, transparency and uniformity, giving no worrying odor, exhibiting excellent gel stability, having an adjustable gelling time and capable of forming a transparent gel by a reaction at room temperature permitting utilization for a transparent gel using an additive and the like susceptible to temperature, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The transparent hydrogel comprises an aqueous solution of at least one anionic water-soluble polymer (A), at least two polyvalent metallic compounds (B) having different water solubility or comprises at least one acidic compound (C) in addition to (A) and (B), and has gel strength (G), syneresis (R), transparency (T) and uniformity (U) satisfying the following equations (1), (2), (3) and (4), 1 g/cm2<=G<=100 g/cm2 (1), R<=0.1 wt.% (2), T>=7.0 cm (3), U<=0.35 mm (4). Its manufacturing method is also provided. |
