Pivoting disk lock with striking bushing

A compact steering wheel lock is described with a locking plate (11) with a profiled edge to lock the steering column. The locking plate has a profiled hole to sit over a cam (6) which is rotated by the lock cylinder. This provides an improved grip between the cam and the locking mechanism and replaces the conventional larger locking linkages. The locking plate is displaced against the action of a return spring.
