METHOD FOR PREVENTING ABRASION OF WORK ROLLS IN HOT ROLLED STRIP MANUFACTURING

PURPOSE: A method for preventing abrasion of work rolls in hot rolled strip manufacturing is provided to extend a life cycle of the work rolls by controlling scale constituents on the surface of the strip during manufacturing of a hot rolled strip so as to minimize abrasion of the work rolls. CONSTITUTION: The method for preventing abrasion of work rolls in hot rolled strip manufacturing comprises the processes of rolling the resulting strip using the work rolls after cooling the hot rolled strip to a temperature of 950 deg.C or less so that scale constituents of the surface of the strip is maintained to Wustite(FeO) by spraying cooling water onto the surface of the hot rolled strip to prevent abrasion of the work rolls rolling a hot rolled strip.
