PURPOSE: A method for remembering a password is provided to optimize the use convenience of a terminal by simply and quickly remembering the password to a user, removing inconvenience for visiting a terminal service center, and preventing time and cost consumption. CONSTITUTION: If a user selects a password change menu, corresponding information is inputted to a general purpose interface unit and inputted information is inputted to a microprocessor through a general purpose interface bus, and information from the microprocessor is transmitted to a display window of a terminal and a new password input message is displayed on the display window(S4). If the user inputs a new password, corresponding information is inputted to the general purpose interface unit and inputted information is inputted to the microprocessor through the general purpose interface bus, and information from the microprocessor is transmitted to the display window of the terminal and a remembrance phrase input message is displayed on the display window(S5). If the user inputs a remembrance phrase, corresponding information is inputted to the general purpose interface unit and inputted information is inputted to the microprocessor through the general purpose interface bus, and information from the microprocessor is transmitted to a memory and the new password and the remembrance phrase are stored in the memory unit(S6). And information from the microprocessor is transmitted to the display window and the terminal returns to a receipt standby state(S6). If the user uses the terminal in which the password and the remembrance phrase are stored in the memory unit and does not memorize the password, the user selects a password search menu(S7). Corresponding information is inputted to the general purpose interface unit and inputted information is inputted to the microprocessor through the general purpose interface bus, and information from the microprocessor is transmitted to the display window of the terminal and a remembrance phrase input message is displayed on the display window(S8). If the remembrance phrase stored in the memory unit is inputted from the user, corresponding information is inputted to the general purpose interface unit and inputted information is inputted to the microprocessor through the general purpose interface bus, and the microprocessor compares corresponding information with the remembrance phrase stored in the memory unit(S9). If the corresponding information is identical to the remembrance phrase, the microprocessor reads the password stored in the memory and displays the password on the display window during a uniform time(S9).
