PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide G0 transgenic chimera birds having the objective genes or gene sequences in the germ cells at high efficiency, and capable of being propagated to posterity, and a method for creating the transgenic chimera birds, and further to provide transgenic birds having the objective genes or gene sequences in the somatic cells and the germ cells, and a method for creating the transgenic birds. SOLUTION: The G0 transgenic chimera birds obtained by the gene transfer by using a retrovirus vector in the replication-defective type has >=10% propagation efficiency of the transferred gene to the G1.
