CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD FOR MOLTEN STEEL AND CONTINUOUSLY CAST SLAB

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method which is capable of making coarse granular crystals near a center and coarse columnar crystals enclosing together with the same form fine equiaxed crystals and a continuously cast slab having a fine solidified structure cast by using the same. SOLUTION: The continuous casting method for the molten steel is carried out while adding an MgO-Al mixture or MgO-Ti mixture in a ladle tundish or casting mold and casting the molten steel while swirling the molten steel within a horizontal plane by an induction electromagnetic stirrer in the continuous casting equipment having the induction electromagnetic stirrer between 10 m under the casting mold from the meniscus within the casting mold.
