The invention concerns an arrangement for making a web joint in a paper web, in between machine reeling of the web and cutting of side-runs. Between the machine reeling and the cutting of side-runs a fetching means (31) is arranged to grip the web (8) arriving from the machine reel (1), in the MD direction, and a suction means is arranged to receive the end of the web running to cutting of the side-runs, in the MD direction, and to receive the end of the web arriving on the fetching means from the machine reel, and thus to keep the web ends one on the other in order to cut them and to join them together in the CD direction. |
