METHOD FOR PREPARING 1-BROMOETHYL ACETATE

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing high purity 1-bromoethyl acetate of the formula by simple refining process using industrially available material. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises reacting acetyl bromide and para-aldehyde. The para-aldehyde is used in equivalent of 0.8-1.5. The reaction temperature is 30-50 deg.C. The reaction effects in the presence of zinc chloride catalyst. The method further comprises the steps of washing the reactants with water to remove unreacted acetyl bromide and HBr, and distilling the reactants under reduced pressure to isolate a pure 1-bromoethyl acetate of the formula.
