PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange an air conditioner such that a specified indoor unit can perform cooling operation and the other can perform heating operation, and that it can regulate the quantity of a refrigerant flowing in a refrigerant circuit, according to the load falling on the indoor unit. SOLUTION: A compressor 5, a four-way valve 7, and an outdoor heat exchanger 8 are connected in order, and also an expansion valve 12 is connected to that outdoor heat exchanger 8, and also the stream is divided, and the divided streams are connected to one side of an indoor heat exchanger 3a and an indoor heat exchanger 4a through an expansion valve 20 and an expansion valve 21, and the other sides of the heat exchangers are connected to the above four-way valve 7, and a bypass pipe 19 equipped with an expansion valve 22 is provided between a pipe 15 connected on the other side of the indoor heat exchanger 3a and a pipe 14 connected on one side of the heat exchanger 4a, and also a solenoid opening and closing valve 23 is provided between the pipes 15 and 16.
