PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the transmission data quantity, and to speed up the printing processing by eliminating an unnecessary area of image data when outputting data from a computer, and compressing and transmitting the image data after eliminating the unnecessary area. SOLUTION: The unnecessary area of the image data outputted from an application possessed by the computer is discriminated (S2), and the unnecessary area is eliminated (S3). The kind and shape of the image data eliminating this unnecessary area are determined, a compressing method suitable for the image data is selected on the basis of a determining result (S4), the image data is compressed by using the selected compressing method (S5), and the compressed image data is transmitted to a printer via an interface part. |
