MULTIPLE PASSAGE TYPE ROTARY JOINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple passage type rotary joint capable of satisfactorily running a plurality of kinds of fluids. SOLUTION: An annular space 10 between a joint body 1 and a rotating body 2 is partitioned into a connecting space 15 and a cooling space 16 by alternately arranged fixed seal rings 11 and retaining walls 12 and a vertical pair of movable seal rings 13 retained by the retaining walls 12. Both the bodies 1 and 2 have first and second fluid passages 27 and 28 opened to the connecting space 15, respectively. The second fluid passage 28 is formed of a main passage 30, upper and lower passages 31 and 32 and a connecting passage 33 allowing these passages to communicate each other. Each retaining wall 12 has a cooling fluid passing hole 25 allowing the cooling spaces 16 located on both sides thereof to communicate each other. The joint body 1 has a feed passage 42 and discharge passage 43 opened to the upper and lower end cooling spaces 16, respectively, to carry a cooling fluid 44 from the feed passage 42 to the discharge passage 43 successively through all the cooling spaces 16.
