PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of separating an object to be transferred and improving durability. SOLUTION: The fixing device 4 has: a heating belt 6; a pressure roller 5 brought into rotation contact with the outer peripheral face of the heating belt 6; a pad 7 having a nip formation part 71, forming a nip N between the heating belt 6 and the pressure roller 5 by being provided so as to be slid on the inner peripheral face 6a of the heating belt 6 and sandwiching the heating belt 6 in cooperation with the pressure roller 5, and a separation guide part 72 provided adjacently; and an auxiliary drive force giving mechanism 20 for temporarily giving a speed V2 of a moving speed V1 or more to the rotation movement of the heating belt 6 in a downstream side region B of a rotation direction R2 of the belt 6.
