PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vegetation mat for virescence capable of reliably preventing the translocation of surface soil, plant seeds, fertilizer, or the like, by excellent adhesion to the ground, and also capable of preventing the drying of plant seeds by high water retentivity, which leads to difficulties in the occurrence of uneven germination and growth, and easy ecesis of invading vegetation. SOLUTION: This mat has a rough- and thick-fiber bed 3 formed by entangling plural rough and thick fibers 2 with one another in a condition that the fibers 2 each formed in the form of a line or a band are each curled in the form of a spiral and by accumulating the fibers 2 in the form of a mat.
