PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adapt a power source system for a display device, etc., to a power- saving mode using a simple constitution, while enabling display operation. SOLUTION: In the power-saving mode, a timer means such as a timer circuit 260 or counting circuit performs on-off control over source voltages of a drive circuits 100, an LCD 200, etc., generated by a power circuit 350 at specific intervals of time. Consequently, while the power consumption is reduced in the power-saving mode through the power-off control, a display can be made at specific intervals of time without having to carry out special operation. The output of a gate select signal into a display panel is stopped before the power-off control to maintain a display, before the power-off operation for a little while, even after the power-off operation.
