PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and inexpensively reading information. SOLUTION: Picture information recorded on a light reflective arbitrary substrate by using recording materials constituted of infrared trasmissive pigment (R-1) and pigment (A-1) having absorbency in an infrared area and near infrared absorbent pigment (A-2) is read by using at least two kinds of light beams whose wavelengths are different in areas arranging from the infrared area to a visible light area close to the near infrared ray.
