Method and apparatus for producing multiple zones (12, 13) from a single wellbore (11) wherein a hollow whipstock (15) is used to complete a lateral (11A) into an upper zone (12) which lies above a lower producing zone (13). The whipstock (15) has openings (25) through its tapered face (20) which, in turn, are sealed by dissolvable plugs (26). Once the lateral (11a) has been completed, a reagent is pumped down the wellbore (11) to dissolve the plugs (26) and open the openings (25) through the face (20) of the whipstock (15) thereby allowing the flow from the lower zone (13) to pass through the whipstock (15) to be produced up through the wellbore (11) along with the flow from the upper production zone (12).
