The invention relates to a method for producing polyethylene in tubular reactors with or without autoclaves, whereby a liquid medium current containing ethylene and comonomers is supplied to a radical chain initiator with or without cold ethylene. Torsion is produced between two currents (61, 62) to be mixed at an angle (66), or a torsion element (20, 80) is provided in the cross-section of the current (27, 28). A contraction of the cross-sectio n (63, 67, 71) is formed in the region of a feeding point (72, 81) for a radic al chain initiator, at which point the radical chain initiator is supplied in t he current having torsion (61, 62, 70), through an eccentric, optimised outlet (44) of a feeding finger (40).
