PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner is provided to cool an electric supplying cord by forming a ventilation opening for cooling the electric supplying cord at a containing chamber of the electric supplying cord. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner comprises a suction hose, a case connected to the suction hose, a filter member, a fan motor assembly, and an electric supplying cord(50). An inner space of the case is divided into a dust chamber, an instrument installing chamber and a containing chamber. The fan motor assembly for absorbing and exhausting air of the dust chamber is connected to the instrument-installing chamber. The electric supplying cord for operating the fan motor assembly supplies an electric power source, and is stored at the containing chamber. A ventilation opening(201) is formed at the containing chamber(20c) of the case to discharges a heat generated at the electric supplying cord. The ventilation opening is placed at topside of the containing chamber.
