PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve nipping conveyor belts functioning to nip the stems/leaves of Welsh onions in a longitudinal posture and convert them to a transverse posture during nipping and conveying them and then discharge them. SOLUTION: A self-propelled machine body mounted with a pair of left and right crawlers is equipped with a digging conveyor having a digging blade on the tip and functioning to convey Welsh onions while placing the roots thereof dug up by the blade in a longitudinal posture and raising them and a pair of nipping conveyor belts set up above the digging conveyor and functioning to discharge the Welsh onions by converting them to a transverse posture during conveying them while nipping the stems/leaves thereof dug up from the farming field in a longitudinal posture, wherein (1) the nipping conveyor belts 10 are wound each between a driving pulley 11 and a driven pulley 12 and have each a sponge on the obverse side and a wide width, and the driven pulleys 12 are slantly set up transversely and longitudinally relatively to the driving pulleys 11, respectively, (2) the longitudinal inclinations of the driven pulleys 12 relative to the driving pulleys 11 turn oppositely to each other, respectively, and (3) the driving pulleys 11 are provided so as to have a longitudinal phase difference.
